A very personal trainer.

The following is an email I received from Eric a reader and his friend Sadie (the red menace).

I’m not a runner.  I hate running. But yet I run every single morning.  Why?  Because each morning I get a cold wet nose in the eye and then there’s an Australian Cattle Dog at the side of my bed making a sound that I can only compare to an air-raid siren.

6 months ago I rescued the cutest dog in the world from a county pound.  I was only marginally aware of the intense exercise needs of the Australian Cattle Dog.  She needs one (preferably two) hard runs a day.

And each morning – and I literally mean every morning – when I wake up I have the same thought:  I can’t believe I have to go out and run now.  And as soon as I’ve taken my second or third stride outside, I have the same thought:  This is so great.  I’m so lucky I have such a beautiful, sweet dog that gets me out every morning to run (at a pretty decent pace).  When I get home, I feel like a million bucks.

I’ve lost 40 pounds.  My sport (judo) has improved.

And I owe it all to my very personal trainer.

sadie, the red menace, personal trainer

Tell your readers that there are plenty of dogs in pounds in shelters that would love to be a personal trainer, too.  And unlike the ones at the gym, you can snuggle them after the workout.

Best,

Eric

Thank you very much for the inspirational story Eric.

For those of you out there who may be curious in adopting your own personal trainer you can find hundreds of pets in your area in need of a home through Petfinder.

Or if you’re just feeling charitable go ahead and visit ASPCA.

And if you have a similar story or anything else entertaining or inspirational please email me at thebuffgeek@gmail.com.

Have a happy Thanksgiving everybody.

Elbow Pain

elbow pain

Pain due to gamers elbow can be a frustrating journey.

In short the main reason this happens is due to what we call in the rehab world “creep”.  When are wrists are cocked and loaded (smirk) in an unnatural position for long periods of time it can have some detrimental effects at the elbow joint.

The best way to avoid this is through motion.

If you work at a computer for any length of time you absolutely have to get up and move every so often.  Even if it IS just your wrists and elbows.

Set a timer if you have to.  I like to use the timer app in igoogle.

Every 30 minutes get up, do some stretches and then continue with your work.

Heres a quick vid of some exercises you can do at your desk.  It’s definitely not a complete list but it’s something to get you started.

Whats the deal with Warp Speed Fat Loss?

Autumn is probably one of my favorite seasons.  Unfortunately if you’re like me its also the time of year I start to be a little more loose wit my eating habits.  I’m a big fan of Halloween myself.  So for all the other computer geeks out there interested in shedding a couple pounds before the upcoming fat season, Ive decided to present to you Warp Speed Fat Loss.

First off, Warp Speed Fat Loss is a very cool concept. The idea that you have in your hands the exact step by step rapid weight loss blueprint that can help you lose 8lbs in the first week and up to 21lbs in just 28 days is very exciting.

Warp Speed Fat Loss is broken up into two main parts – diet and training. The good thing is you can be a complete idiot in both areas and still lose as boatload of weight since everything is laid out for you.

In regards to the diet. It is put together by nutritionist and fat loss master Mike Roussell. Mike has created a ton of different “diet levels” so all you need to do is 1. Know your body weight and 2. Print out the 28 day diet plan for that body weight. If you don’t like the foods Mike picked out that is okay as he made some really easy to follow videos that show you how to add your favorite foods to his diets.

The training part of Warp Speed Fat Loss isn’t a walk in the park; but if anyone told you that you could lose 20lbs of fat in just 4 weeks without a solid exercise program they’d be telling you lies. It isn’t like you have to spend your whole day in the gym either as each of the workouts are over in less than 57 minutes.

The Warp Speed Fat Loss program has already given hundreds of people results were nothing short of phenomenal. If you are looking for a brain dead simple guaranteed way to lose weight fast then definitely check out Warp Speed Fat Loss. You can pick up your copy at Warp Speed Fat Loss.

Fat Burning Equipment

When you run a fitness facility people often comment.

“oh, you should get (insert piece of fitness equipment here) I really like that one.”

cross trainer

It makes me wonder. Why do you “really” like that one? Because its comfortable to do for 45 minutes to an hour?

Chances are you have some sort of goal when you enter the gym. Chances also are if you like a piece of equipment its not helping you toward that goal.

I can understand if you’re new to the whole gym scene and you don’t want to intimidate yourself. But most of these people who inquire about (insert piece of fitness equipment here) are regular gym goers.

Here are a couple of pieces that I absolutely can not stand. (which is good)

Airdyne Bike

Versaclimber

Step Mill

Concept Rower

It really doesn’t matter what piece of equipment you choose. As long as you’re putting the “work” in, they can all be helpful. As a whole I just think people are way to comfortable at the gym. Which is why we rarely see change.

The Future

Hello everybody that reads this blog.

I didn’t forget about my weekly updates.   September rolled around and as always the shift from having little clients to having an avalanche of clients has messed with my schedule as usual.

Im working on a bunch of articles Ive put together for the next few posts so there should be a lot of interesting stuff to look forward too.

On top of that the format of this blog may also be changing.  Once I get back into the swing of things I will be able to concentrate on what this website was originally intended for.

Thats it for now.  Check back in a week and I should have some new content up.
